Annu Int Conf IEEE Eng Med Biol Soc. 2015;2015:6796-9. doi: 10.1109/EMBC.2015.7319954.

We collected and analyzed subjective and objective data using surveys and wearable sensors worn day and night from 68 participants for ~30 days each, to address questions related to the relationships among sleep duration, sleep irregularity, self-reported Happy-Sad mood...

Fluctuation conductivity in insulator-superconductor transitions with dissipation.

PMID: 11017360
Phys Rev Lett. 2000 Jan 24;84(4):737-40. doi: 10.1103/PhysRevLett.84.737.

We analyze here the fluctuation conductivity in the vicinity of the critical point in a 2D Josephson junction array shunted by an Ohmic resistor. We find that, at the Gaussian level, the conductivity acquires a logarithmic dependence on T/m...

The "diindene" ArInInAr (Ar = C(6)H(3)-2,6-Dipp(2), Dipp = C(6)H(3)-2,6-Pr(i)(2)). Dimeric versus monomeric in(I) aryls: para-substituent effects in terphenyl ligands.

The synthesis and structure of a "diindene" with significant metal-metal bonding are described. It has an In-In distance of 2.9786(5) A, an In-In-C angle of 121.23(6) degrees , and an In-In bond order that is probably less than unity.

Isomeric forms of divalent heavier group 14 element hydrides: characterization of Ar'(H)GeGe(H)Ar' and Ar'(H)(2)GeGeAr'.PMe(3) (Ar' = C(6)H(3)-2,6-Dipp(2); Dipp = C(6)H(3)-2,6-Pr(i)(2)).

The reduction of Ar'GeCl (Ar' = C6H3-2,6-Dipp2; Dipp = C6H3-2,6-Pri2) with LiBH(Bus)3 affords the first heavier group 14 element dimetallene hydride Ar'(H)GeGe(H)Ar' which, upon further reaction with PMe3, yields the base-stabilized isomeric form Ar'(H)2GeGeAr'.PMe3.

A versatile, stereoselective synthesis of 5-hydroxypiperidinones with substituents at N1, C3, and C6 has been developed. The sequence involves ring-closing metathesis of a diene amide and epoxidation of the resulting alkene, followed by base-mediated elimination, and finally hydrogenation.

Although the prevalence or even occurrence of insect herbivory during the Late Carboniferous (Pennsylvanian) has been questioned, we present the earliest-known ecologic evidence showing that by Late Pennsylvanian times (302 million years ago) a larva of the Holometabola was...

Synthesis and characterization of 2,6-Dipp(2)-H(3)C(6)SnSnC(6)H(3)-2,6-Dipp(2) (Dipp = C(6)H(3)-2,6-Pr(i)(2)): a tin analogue of an alkyne.

The reaction of Sn(Cl)C(6)H(3)-2,6-Dipp(2) (Dipp = C(6)H(3)-2,6-Pr(i)()(2)) with a stoichiometric amount of potassium in benzene affords 2,6-Pr(i)()(2)-H(3)C(6)SnSnC(6)H(3)-2,6-Pr(i)()(2) (1) as dark blue-green crystals. The compound 1 is a tin analogue of an alkyne. It was characterized by (1)H and (13)C...
