Abstract

Methodological considerations related to the use of vaginal photoplethysmography in the experimental investigation of physiological sexual arousal in women are discussed. Specific topics covered include the operation and use of the device, methods of data reduction and analysis, and the role of vaginal photoplethysmography in the study of female sexual arousal. A review of the literature focusing on methodological issues is also included.
