Abstract

Medical students may now do their electives with the doctor manned ambulances in Copenhagen in order to observe acute pre-hospital treatment. The author stresses the importance of seeing the patients in their own social setting with their acute symptoms and there being able to observe the reactions of patient and kin alike as well as learning how to react to peoples' grief.
